Something Good - France's ending

"(Male Name)!!!" Your friend Francis shook your arm "What's wrong, mon ami?"

You opened your eyes fast, and covered them with your hands, trying to hide your tears.

"I knew it" he said "You were looking really tired lately, so I supposed you were having problems with your sleep" he added, resting a hand on your shoulder "Did your nightmares come back?"

You nodded, and tried to hide a few tears. Francois noticed this, but acted as if he hadn't realized.
"Why don't you take a shower, mon ami? I'll make you some breakfast"

You thanked him and went to shower. So Francois had noticed about your lack of sleep... You knew it was weird that he had invited you to stay overnight. You were glad he cared, because who would if he didn't? He was the only one who had ever shown affection towards you. But it was just no use. You had been having nightmares again, that's true. But it was due to the fact that you had nothing beautiful to dream in your life. You hated it, and you hated yourself. You tried hard to calm those feelings as you got out of the shower. The hot water had turned your body temperature back to normal, since you were drenched in cold sweat by the time you woke up.

You got dressed and sat at the table. Francis smiled at you, while he offered you some toasts and coffee.

“I’m sorry, Fran. I’m not really hungry today”

“My, what’s wrong with my cooking?” he joked” It may be a bit different, but I thought you liked it”

You just remained silent, and forced a smile to him.

“That’s it” he said, sitting at the chair in front of you “Tell me what’s going on. And know that I’m not leaving until you do!” he added as he knew you were going to say you were OK.

“I’m just scared. There, you happy?”

“Je ne comprend pas… What are you scared of?”

“Nothing, Fran. Really…”

“FINE! I’m scared of myself, got it? I hate myself so much, and the idea that I might try to end with it the fast way is freaking me out!” Francois turned serious, but he let you talk. Francis interrupted you with a tight hug. When you had started crying, he couldn’t stop himself anymore.

“DON’T EVER SAID THAT AGAIN, YOU HEAR ME?”

“Don’t go saying no one likes you or cares for you, cause I do and this hurts me so much!”

“Fran, I’m…” you started crying harder “I’m sorry”

He held you tight, soothingly caressing your hair. You thought he didn’t care about you, that he was just being pitiful on you. You cried against his chest until you calmed down.

“Don’t apologize” he said, reading your intentions “Whatever happens to you from now on, just talk to me about it. You really are important for me, and I don’t want you to be that hurt. I just wish I had realized earlier”

You let a weak smile out.

“Besides” he added “your face when crying is the most unstylish thing ever! I don’t want to see that face again, got it?

You nodded, and wiped your tears away. He playfully rested his head on top of yours, scratching your forehead with his chin curtain. You finally laughed, and he hugged you one more time before going to have breakfast. Who knows, maybe you’d be able to have a nice dream tonight after all…

“Francis, this coffee… is salty”

“I thought you liked salty things”

“Yeah, but you can’t just go and put salt in things like coffee!”
